We had 26 Jacala Cubs on this county camp, joining 100 young people from the Group and thousands from throughout Oxfordshire.

After putting up tents on the Thursday evening the Cubs arrived on Friday in time for supper and the evening entertainments. Charlie managed to get himself up on stage and we managed to get all 26 Cubs back and into bed by just after 11.30pm (the music went on and on!)

Saturday morning started with a tasty breakfast and flag break followed by a morning of zone 1 activities including a big wheel, a merry go round, zorbing and caving. After lunch back at camp, the afternoon was spent in zone 2 trying out trampolines, tug of war and giant scaletrix. On Saturday evening our dinner was themed to the country that we were representing (Singapore) with tasty noodles, rice and curry, followed by another evening of entertainments.

By Sunday morning the Cubs just wanted to keep on sleeping but they woke up once they got to the zone 3 activities including roller skating, giant table football, a bouncy obstacle course and some fake wounds. After lunch it was time to get packed up before the closing ceremony, during which we tried not to melt in the big top!

The weather was beautiful throughout - sunscreen, water, hats and shade were top priority and, other than a few slight burns, we all made it through without cooking. Chil did start a water fight at one point, and we managed to keep it going for a while before an announcement came over the PA system telling us that the water was for drinking and washing, not for playing with ...

The leaders certainly slept well on Sunday night and we have a feeling that there were some pretty sleepy Cubs too!
