We had a fantastic day to celebrate 75 years of 33rd Oxford (Kidlington) Scout Group. Despite the forecasts of chilly weather and rain all day we managed to stay pretty much completely dry (except for the Cubs who fell in the river!)

The day was split into two parts - in the morning half did water activities and half did dry activities and they then swapped over for the afternoon session - with a delicious BBQ lunch for everyone in the middle.

For their water activities they were able to choose between kayaking, canoeing and pulling - everyone got to try out two of these.

There was a whole range of dry activities: blindfold trail, bridge the gap, egg drop, face painting, giant Kim's game, gutter ball, nature badges, power boating, rope making, scavenger hunt, soap carving, spider web, pirate puzzlers and water obstacle course.

At the end of the day we had a presentation ceremony, with prizes for the winners of the contests we had running during the day and awards presents to young people and leaders by Anthony Morris, one of our District Commissioners.

Thank you to all the leaders and parents who gave up their time make this event possible!
