Cub Scouts were founded (as Wolf Cubs) by Robert Baden-Powell on 16 December 1916. On 16 December 2016 Cub Scouts all over the country took part in Promise Parties to celebrate their 100th birthday, all participating in a Promise Renewal at exactly 19:16.

Our Cubs joined hundreds of others from all over the District for our party at The Oxford Academy. They worked in small teams to complete a Trading Posts activity, earning as much money as possible by completing a wide range of different activities. They then took part in an enormous Grand Howl before renewing their promises with the rest of the Cubs. It was then through to the food room for a massive bring and share indoor picnic (Cubs are able to create a LOT of mess!)

Every Cub received a special commemorative bag and an Oxford Cubs pencil to keep as souvenirs of the event.
