We had a very Christmassy time at our Pack sleepover in December. This year were at the Scout hut for a weekend of festive fun.

After splitting into their teams (Santas, Crackers, Sprouts and Elves) we started the weekend with a Christmas quiz and a paper making chain contest before lunch.

After eating we played a card matching game and then worked in teams to create amazing Christmas characters. We then thought of Christmas promises and wishes to add to our Promise tree before sewing our own Christmas stockings.

After a drink and snack it was time for another game and then some beautifully crafted salt dough decorations. As it got dark we put on our reflective jackets, found our torches and set off for a torch lit trail around Kidlington.

Dinner was a Christmas roast (thank you to our expert chef) and several Cubs declared it to be even more delicious than what they get at home. Feeling well fed, they got into their pyjamas, collected their pillows and watched their Christmas movie of choice (Elf), with a popcorn break in the middle.

The Cubs were wide awake by 7am on Sunday morning and after getting packed up and eating breakfast it was time to decorate their ornaments. We then played lots of games, created Christmas scenes and made pop-up cards. And Father Christmas showed up to distribute the stockings (which Santa’s little helpers had put together the night before).

After a tasty lunch Cubs turned their teammates into snowmen before finishing the day with even more games!
