St George's Day Challenge (21 April 2013)

This year’s St George’s Day Celebration will include the usual flag break and renewal of promises. However, instead of a parade there will be an exciting monopoly-themed treasure hunt through Oxford city centre. After an opening ceremony at the Castle our Cubs will compete (in teams of three to six) against other Cubs from the District to visit streets and answer questions, finishing at University Parks for a renewal of Promises. We will need parents to help out by accompanying teams, so please let us know if you can assist (you can bring siblings along if you want!)

Please note that St George's Day is one of the key dates in the Scouting calendar and though we won't be parading this year we do still expect a high turn-out to this event. If Cubs wish to take part only in the renewal of Promises without participating in the Challenge this is fine, though we would encourage everyone to join in with the whole event. Any Cubs attending just for the renewal of Promises should arrive at University Parks at 11:45 am.

Please submit the form below by Thursday 18 April to confirm your Cub's attendance.
