Challenge Report
This was one of the bases during the Saturday of our Friendship Camp. The Cubs were shown a couple of simple parachute designs and then provided with equipment to make their own. They had a choice of different materials, including various types of plastic and fabric, and also different types of string. Each Cub was given a dolly peg to decorate as their parachutist and then set to work to come up with the ideal design. They experimented with the size and shape of the parachute and the number of strings before testing their designs and discussing which ones worked more successfully and why. We agreed that we’d rather have any of the parachutes then no parachute at all, but some of them were certainly more successful than others!
